\n
\n bronchial tubes pass through the lungs, they divide into smaller air passages And the oxygen from the air breathed in passes through the smaller air passages with the blood. The blood then leaves the lungs and is carried to the heart. Then the heart pumps it through your body to provide oxygen to the cells of your tissues and organs.

This is because if all cells had the same functions they would not be able to work together to be able to do multiple actions and our bodies would be limited in physical and mental activities. The advantages of having specialized cells are that the cells can work together to make the body function properly and as needed. For example, if we only had blood cells, we would be very limited in our abilities and literally would not be able to live because necessities like breathing or eating would not be able to be done by our body. Not only is the body more versatile but having specialized cells makes us unique. We all end up having different strengths because our cells can do different functions better than others.
\n
\nThe disadvantages to having specialized cells is the fact that you need more energy to fuel these cells with proper nutrition, therefore more food and healthier food is needed to be consumed. One other problem with having specialized cells is that if an infection enters the body and one or two different cells fail to perform their functions, the other cells are affected because all cells work together and the body does not work efficiently and your overall self is unhealthy.","dateCreated":"1352923699","smartDate":"Nov 14, 2012","userCreated":{"username":"abbimac","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/abbimac","imageUrl":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/pic\/1357950911\/abbimac-lg.jpg"}},{"id":"58326922","body":"Cells, particularly specialized cells, and the systems they create are capable of many great things that we never contemplate throughout our every day life. One of the advantages of specialized cells include the more complex an organism is, the multitude of specialized cells there are. This means that a unicellular organism does not have specialized cells compared to say a human, who has multiple purposes and many kinds of "challenges" therefore many specialized cells are needed to preform these actions. Another reason that specialized cells have an advantage is because they have the ability to fight off infections easier because the specialized cells have special ways and working together to get rid of diseases, that an unicellular organism may not be able to fend off. A disadvantage of specialized cells is that the organism needs to consume more food for energy because with many cell systems comes the need for more energy to run these systems. If we have malnutrition our cells will not have enough energy to function as fast as they would if a healthy diet was implied. Also, if a cell system is not functioning properly, the rest of organism may not work as efficiently because the "sick" cell is not able to work at an equal part of the entire organism. Therefore specialized celles are needed for multiple systems to function and unicellular organisms are capable of living off of one cell.","dateCreated":"1352924196","smartDate":"Nov 14, 2012","userCreated":{"username":"Emilyk33","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/Emilyk33","imageUrl":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/pic\/1362705197\/Emilyk33-lg.jpg"}},{"id":"58326942","body":"Having specialized cells allows us to do differnet things than others. \nHaving specialized cells is better than having just one cell. But, there are pros and cons for both. The pros of having specialized cells are being able to manage your energy, all of your systems work(skeletal, immune, digestive, respiratory) efficiently together and your body will be perfect. The cons of having a one-cell body are... If there was only one cell system such as the skeletal system It is easier to get sick since there is no immune system. You would not be able to control your body's energy level since your body would use 100% of your energy from your one cell system, you would be weaker since your bones and other parts of your body would have to be divided evenly between your cell system. If our body was a one cell system, we would eventually shut down because our major organs would be weaker since its only a one cell system. So it would be easier to get sick. So I think that it is better to have a specialized cell system rather than a one cell system. Last example ( when you have a specialized cells, your body has the cells to work together and sustain health when your sick, your immune system works together and fights off the sickness. If you have a one-cell system, your body wouldn't be able to work together since it only has one type of cell,so, if your sick, your body wouldn't do anything since you don't have an immune system to fight it off so your body would get worse and get even more sick then you eventually die).","dateCreated":"1353001082","smartDate":"Nov 15, 2012","userCreated":{"username":"_Cole_R_","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/_Cole_R_","imageUrl":"https:\/\/ssl.wikicdn.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"}},{"id":"58367714","body":"Specialized cells give the bodies different abilities.
