Before you begin you must prepare the slides. Label the edge of the slide with the specimen's name. Take measures to ensure no bactera contaminates the specimen(avoid contact with potentially harmful surfaces). Then transfer the specimen to glass microscope slide, making a thin smear on the slide.
Wait until liquid dries. Heat fix the slide by waving it over an open flame.
Place slide on a drying rack.
Then flood the slide with the stain.
Finally, rinse the slide with distilled water and then let it dry. The specimen is now able to be viewed.
