What is a nutient?

A nutrient is any substance that the body needs to live and grow. Nutrients also help the body to build, repair, regulate and energize the body. A nutrient is any substance that gives energy or builds tissue.



Define macro-nutrient and give examples of food where we can find it:

A macro-nutrient is a nutrient that you need for energy. Protiens! We can find it is stuff like Beans or red meats. Or if your a veggatarian, Tofu! A macro-nutrient provides our body with energy (calories) for growth and activity.

Ex. Fats, Carbohydrates and Proteins

Define micro-nutrient and give examples of food where we can find it:

a micronutrient is a nutrient that can help the body regulate funtions such as vision, healing, and muscle movement, examples are...;

Ex. Vitamins and Minerals.

What is a calorie?

a calorie is a metric unit of energry,also calorie are good cause they give us energy.But if we have more then 2500 we gain 1lb.
- Calories measure energy but they espescially collect heat energy!:)

What is the ideal calorie diet for a 13-year old?


The ideal calorie diet for a thirteen year old depends. If you are a girl you should consume 2,200 calories daily. If your a guy you should consume 2,500 calories daily. so guys should consume 300 more calories then Girls.
